These Ants Boast Mighty Grip

This Asian weaver ant can dangle a weight more than 100 times heavier than itself without losing its grip on the surface above it.

It is amazing how these ants can change their grip in milliseconds to climb up things or even climb upside down. It is cool how their is moisture on their foot pads. It is the same moisture that makes moist paper towels stick to windows. I've always wondered why ants or any other bug can climb up walls but we cannot. So even thought that was a short article, it was pretty informative.

Wow! It's so cool how these ants can do amazing things, such as climbing upside down. I, along with Nick, have always wanted to know how bugs can climb up walls. I thought they had suction cups or something, but is actually only moisture. I think this was a pretty informative article, an A.

This is actually really cool. It's pretty strange to think that ants, being the very small and weak seeming animals that they are, can pick up 100 times their weight? That would be like me picking up around 7,500 pounds. That's pretty crazy. Also, an ant's foot can expand in a millisecond? I really didn't see that coming. What's kind of odd to think about is that there are so many of these bugs, even though we can't really see. Ants may be small, but they are quite strong for their size.
