Kepler Telescope Spots Two Planets in Life-Friendly Orbit

Brought to you by Mr. Brennan

This handout artist concept provided by Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics shows the newly discovered planets. The year in space: In 2013, scientists captured stunning images of the planets, a galaxy, a planetary nebula and more from space.

It is amazing that "Planet-hunting astronomer" found two more plantets on Thursday (tantalizing worlds). I wonder if we will ever get to go there. Considering that the two planets (tantalizing worlds) it is orbiting a star 1,200 light-years away it seems impossible. Sadly neither planet has been seen directly. May be they actually have living things living there. The two planets were found by looking at their parent star wich was dimming. They found the two plants using intervals that were seen by NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope. Overall I learned a lot and think that this is cool. I give it a A+

This discovery is amazing! I wonder if astronomers will be able to send rovers there and actually find out if there is life. I highly doubt it, but just maybe. It would be really cool if they discovered that there was life on one (or even both!) of the planets. Could they possibly find more planets? I found this article really interesting, but I wish it was a bit more informative. I give it an A.

This is really cool! Could there be life on these planets? Imagine what this could do for us! If we knew that life was somewhere besides on Earth, how would we react? Would there be a real life War of the Worlds? What would happen? Could we be allies? This is really awesome. I would like to see some more pictures of other planets just to see what they look like. Like Sabina said, will astronomers send out rovers to check these places out? Could there be even more planets behind them or somewhere close? Who knows!

But, what really think is cool to think about it how Earth feels so big to us, but space goes on forever! That's very strange to think about.

Overall, I really enjoyed this article and I would like to find out more on this subject.

I think this is amazing. The fact that there is another world in space that is similar to ours is a great discovery. I think that there might be very small living things on this planet, but I doubt there is any life that is even close the the intelligence we humans have.

Wow! This is amazing! I think it would be really cool if we found intelligent life there. It's certainly possible, but I just don't know if we will ever find out. The two planets are 1200 lightyears away, which means it would take a rover at least like 5000 years to get there. Overall, this article was interesting and informative. I rate it an A.
