Overall, I didn't like this game very much. I thought that the facts were interesting and the idea was good, but it still needs some finishing touches.
First, the people who made the game should fix the grammar errors throughout the text, and second, they should make it so that there is actually a game at the end. Asking a few questions does not really count as a full interactive game, and the makers should really work on that.
But, focusing on the facts, I did learn some things that I didn't know before, such as that the antler goes through it's growing cycle every single year, over again, and that elks have four stomaches! On some topics there weren't as many facts as I would've liked, such as the predators page. I didn't feel that putting the names of predators and then the same paragraph on every page wasn't a great idea, based on my experiences with other scientific games that are jam-packed with information. Altogether, though, the game has a lot of potential to be really interesting with the minor changes that should be made.

I agree with Eva. I did not think that this was such a good game. The facts and the idea was fun. The game is an educational one, but is boring. It is not very interactive and all you have to do is click an answer. I have played scientific games that are more interesting and are more interactive. The facts were useful and help you know about elk and their growth. The facts can help you write a report about elk. Other than that, it is not very interesting. The pictures are bad, and I think that if it were more real, not realistic drawings, it would be a lot more fun. All in all, I think that this game could use some fixing up and better pictures. The real pictures would be more helpful.

I agree wit Eva and Jahan. This game was not very fun. I thought that the way it was presented as a game wasn't very interesting either. I think that if it wasn't a game and there were just facts about Elks that the game would be better. I also believe that I would've learned more if it had presented the facts better, as I said before. I did learn something though: I think it was interesting about the mothers and babies, and how you can choose whether you want to stay where you are or leave and find a hiding place. It was interesting because you learned about the lifestyle of an Elk.

I pretty much agree with the people who blogged before me. I also think that this game was boring, and it did have a lot of errors that need to be fixed. For one thing- it was very brief. It took me a couple of minutes to play and I think that they should make it longer and more like a game. Like Eva said, asking a few questions doesn't exactly pass as a full game.
Now, enough about the bad stuff. This game taught a lot of things I didn't know. For one thing, I didn't know that elks have four stomachs. Plus, the idea that elks can give birth when they are roughly 1 year old is crazy! We are still in cribs when we are one year old.
Overall, I think this game could be a great game if the makers fixed its errors.

I agree with everyone that it should be more like a game. I understand the point, but it would have been more fun if there was a question at the end of each page, not just a bunch of "next"s and then an occasional question. I also agree with Eva that they shouldn't just put the names of the predators and the same exact paragraph which doesn't really have any information. It would be better if there was a description of each predator and how it targets the elk. I also thought some facts were interesting. I didn't know that elk grew a new pair of antlers every year. It was especially interesting that they just snapped off like a twig once the cycle was over. I also thought it was really interesting that elk have four stomachs, and how it all works out with escaping predators and timing.

I thought this game was a little bit boring. I didn't get to do anything and the game wasn't challenging at all. The facts were good but unless you're really interested in elk, then it would be boring to sit and read random facts after you click the mouse a couple times. I think this game should have been just a list of facts about elk.

I agree... this game was definitely boring. I mean it could have been more fun if we could do more. Although this is true, the facts were really interesting. Like everyone said above, it wasn't really a game. The facts were boring some of the time, so if they were all more interesting it would have been better...

I didn't like how they used drawings instead of pictures. They weren't that realistic. Eva was right about grammar mistakes, so this wasn't really the best.

This game was not very interesting. They had good facts and ideas, but it still needed more of a game vibe. The game wasn't more of an actual game all you really needed to do was click things and the answer would pop up. When you open the game it is very blan and brown. Altogether the game needed fixing,

Altogether the game needed fixing, and editing. The structure was okay but the game itself wasn't.

This game was pretty boring. Basically you just sat there and clicked next while reading the boring story. The game wasn't really even a game because you just clicked an answer, and if it was wrong you just went back and picked the other one. I do agree with Eva in the fact that there are many grammar errors and and that asking a few questions does NOT make it a full game. I agree with Annie that when you do open the game it is very bland and brown, and you never mention that the male is a bull and the female is a cow, and female elk probably do not name their babies. The facts were good, I just didn't understand the blandness and browness.

I agree with everybody. This game was not really a game at all. All you do is read a boring passage and then click next, and sometimes you have to answer a question. I got one question wrong, and then the game just said to go back and try again. This game was not realistic at all. I think that if you got a question wrong, the game should say something like, "Sorry! You died. You cannot continue in this game." That would have been a lot more realistic. Plus, I think - no, I KNOW - that mother elks don't name their kids Ella or Blinkie.
This game seemed more suited toward 1st or 2nd grade. Although they obviously abandoned any gamey aspects to the "game" to make it informative, it was not very interesting and I learned nothing. The pictures were pixelated and unrealistic, and there were a lot of grammar mistakes. Sorry, Emilynne, but I thought this game was extremely boring and I would give this book a C-.

This was actually really cool, but like Eva said, t needs some finishing touches. I think that the website could use a little color - I was trying my best to really read and understand the facts but the color scheme was so boring I mainly just scanned. The facts that I did take in were actually pretty amazing. I chose the right coices for a growing elk every time, so I didn't die. Elks having four stomachs and all is actually pretty awesome. I never regarded these animals as something I would ever really look into, but I am happy that I did.

Overall, I think that this was pretty cool. I wish that there were maybe soem actual games that take skill that were built in to the website.

I would not have guessed this was a game if it had not said it in the sentence above the link. I thought that this "game" was really pointless and had some stuff that we knew in Room One, however there was still some really good learning opportunities and i took advantage of those. Though some learning parts were good I felt that they could have touched on the predators like Eva said a little bit more. The people who created this are on the right track but definitely need a child's opinion before they put this on the internet. I wish that it could have been more like that one game where you had to pick a shape and then name it and help it mate and things like that, that game was on the blog before and if anyone could tell me the name of that game i would very much appreciate it. All in all I think that they need to work on this game a little bit hard and put a few finishing touches on it, but as far as I am concerned they are on the right track to teaching kids about elk while they are having fun.
