I found this article amazing firstly because the material costs such little money! Secondly, such a little portion of the material will make a huge difference, so you save money, and you have more material. The polymer material that they use is a substance that has a molecular structure consisting chiefly or entirely of a large number of similar units bonded together. The new material is very effective compared to the other machines, and materials that we have used in the past. For example, when we tried using hair to pick up a lot of the oil. I think that this material is a revolutionary product that will help in the near future when we have another oil spill.

This article seemed kind of weird because I never thought that corn cobs could clean up oil.(don't have any more to say).

This was actually really cool! I didn't know that the way that they could clean pu the oil would be so interesting and simple. Scientists found a material that could pick up oil, then turn the material and the oil into a gel that you could melt to just reuse the oil! This could be a breakthrough in oil cleaning science! I really think that this is awesome...like no joke. I mean, I really can't believe that this hasn't been publicized more. It could really change the world.

This is a very fascinating article, but I do think they could have elaborated a little bit more. I never knew that corncobs were absorbent. It is amazing that the materials cost so little money. Also it is cool that they are recycling the oil and reusing it. This one invention could help clean up big oil spills faster and more efficient. I am surprised that not a lot of people know about this. It could be a breakthrough for cleaning up oil spills. Not as many things and people would get harmed. Overall I give this article an A.

I agree with Rachel, this was a great article, but I would like more information. What is this polymer called? Why is it able to do what it does? Questions like that, I would like answered. However, this was a great topic for an article, just a little too short. Also, it is quite amazing that they could create a solution for all oil spills by just condensing the oil into the gel, sticking it onto a ship, and transferring it from point A to point B. This would make transportation a lot easier, and could even make it so you could pack more oil onto a ship than normal.

Amazing! I can't believe they discovered this. This could be incredibly useful. WHY doesn't anybody know about this? There are so many oil spills out there. Like I said, we need to be developing new technology, and I think these guys are on the right track. Still, more people need to know! The more people know, the more people use it. The more people use it, the faster we clean up oil spills, and that's just good for all of us. I would want to know more about this polymer though. How was it made? How was it discovered? Are there any drawbacks? Overall, this article was OK and I give it a B+.

Wow! This was a really cool article! I never would have guess that out of all items, corn cobs were absorbent! Also, the fact that it costs a small amount of money is pretty cool. Oh, and I mean, reusing the oil as well? That's a scientific breakthrough! I agree with Rachel, they should have elaborated a bit more, but overall, this article gets an A.

This article was very interesting, but I think that they should have talked about the material a little more. They should have talked about why it cleans up oil so well and how it can reuse the oil. Also, I think a lot more people should know about this, especially the people who clean up oil spills. This could change the world if more people knew about it.
