This is really cool that they've already gotten so far. The only thing about this is it would be bad if it got into the wrong hands.

This material is very useful. If we could make military aircraft and spy tools with this substance, we could have even better "stealth" aircraft. The ability to be almost invisible has been tried for many years, and this is almost what we have been searching for. It could be what we need for spy tools. But, like Cybella said, this could cause many bad things if it got into the wrong hands. It could cause problems and raids into our country and other ones. Military technology can advance quite a lot if this could be made into mass production. One of the bad things is the price. We don't know how much it costs just to make one cylinder of it, let alone a humongous aircraft out of this material.

This was pretty interesting to me but it was not that interesting. I agree with Jahan and Cybella because this could be useful to the military but if it got into the wrong hand it could be very dangerous.

I think that this is really cool because people are inspired by something that was merely just a fairly tale. They have found a way to make a book into reality. People can find this very useful in many different ways, however it would be dreadful if it landed into the hands of someone with bad intentions. It could be useful, but then again, it could be bad at the same time. I think that as long as the person who has it, takes good care of it, and they have good intentions, then we are safe. :D

This is truly amazing. The one thing that is left out in the article is the price. Many people could benefit from this, but what is the price. If this material is too expensive than this may not be needed. Also, what if other countries develop this material. That wouldn't be good at all. What I like about the article is that they made something that was thought to be fantasy, to reality. That is what amazes me. The whole process is very interesting. But as said in the article there still is room for improvement. Overall, great article!

That was cool. This could help a lot of people. But Cybella, what do you mean by "the wrong hands"? Do you mean other militaries? If we know about it others probably do to. If you don't mean militaries, what do you mean. The chance of a person wanting to take over the world like on television is highly unlikely. The problem with our military using it is that it could be expensive. But as Jacob said, this truly is turning fantasy into reality. A great article in my opinion!

I agree with Cybella. It is really cool thing. And if it got into the wrong hands can be very dangerous. It was a very short, so I did not learn a lot. I agree with Jahan too. It would be very helpful for the military. I also agree with Chloe. Fantasy into reality is an amazing concept that people are just starting to grasp. What if scientists start to venture into vampires or something else that could not be imagined.(that would be awesome) I read an article from the same website that said the they found a head that might lead to a fake tale. The tale was that some south african men used to go around chopping people's head off. I believe this concept is very interesting.

What else can scientists do in the future?
What else can the cloak do?
How much will it cost?
What happens if other armies (other than the USA) get ahold of the cloak?

I think that it is really cool that they tried to make an object that was believed to not be possible (and wanted by many people) exist. Even if it is really expensive, science is evolving really quickly. I think that years from now, "invisibility cloaks" will be pretty common.

This was a PHENOMENAL article! Harry Potter is a fictitious character and everything that occurs in the book is fiction. Some may think it's impossible! However, when we think about it, we can make the unthinkable, THINKABLE. This object is super cool, as pretty much everybody has mentioned, it can be used in our countries military. This is very helpful, however we do not know if it will work. It may work right now, but since this concept of INVISIBILITY is so high tech it could break down when we need it most. All in all this is a fantastic idea and the outcome is wonderful. But people should really work on it;make it better and maybe work not only in front of a microwave but a helicopter or an enemies tank. I think that it is miraculous that our worlds smartest scientists can make something so amazing that you might think that it is MAGICAL!

It is cool that the microwaves go almost through the material instead of going around it. I heard somewhere that the military was creating a shuttle that doesn't reflect light waves making it practically invisible.

This article was really cool, although I would have liked to actually see some picture of the cylinder or some sort of radio-wave simulation in the article to make everything a little clearer. The cylinder is just a prototype, and it would be really cool to see an actual working invisibility cloak that bends visible light. If the size of the indentations made the cylinder almost-invisible to microwaves, why didn't the scientists just make the indentations smaller to begin with? Or maybe the indentations were extremely tiny to begin with and it is almost impossible to make them even smaller. Maybe the indentations would have to be at an atomic level. I don't get how the indentations bend light around the cylinder to exactly where the particles were before hitting the object on the other side of the cylinder. Making that image not somewhat warped seems impossible, with light particles being tiny and moving at extremely fast speeds. If the cloak is improved in the future and is used for good intentions we may make interesting and useful discoveries. But if the cloak were to be put into the wrong hands it could cause lots and lots of trouble for everyone. Overall, the idea of an invisibility cloak is a great idea, but it is also controversial.

I think that this is spectacular. If the inventors modify their invention a little they might actually make the impossible. Like Chloe said, they made something that was fantasy into reality, and just thinking about that gets me really excited. I always liked to imagine what it would be like to be able to become invisible, but of course I thought that it was impossible. Maybe it isn't! Plus, there are a lot of advantages to having an invisible cloak. Think of all the ways you could use it!
