I think that this was a very interesting subject because of allt he exciting things it tought me. For example, when they explained to me that the tusoteuthis was an invertebrate, they grew to 20 feet or more and that they eat fish and marine reptiles. The Xiphactinus is also an amazing fish they can swim over 30 miles per hour and they about 1.5 tons. They also eat other fish too. As you can see these are amazing fish. Some fish eat anything that moves and some fish grow to be over 30 feet long.

I think that was amazing that old creatures were that big. I still can't believe that they would grow 20 ft. long. That is the height of two basketball hoops. I wonder what the habitats are for these animals. Do they live in the open sea or were they around an abundance of life. This was truly an amazing video. I wish it showed more about the life of these animals though.

Dylan and Ben are both right...:) These animals are amazing. I wish I knew more about them though. What were their predators? What others are there? Any relatives? What animals are there today that are related to them?

I agree with everybody. This was fascinating because the scientists were able to find out so much from fossils buried in the ground. I had no idea that all these sea animals grew so long. It was a bit scary though. All those sharp teeth and long 20 foot bodies... I guess they were adaptations to help them catch prey better or for moving. Some of the animals looked like animals we would see today. The Tusoteuthis looked like the modern squid in the oceans now and the Xiphactinus looks like fish in our oceans. How did the animals get discovered by the scientists? Are there more fossils like these to come?

This was cool bu short and boring.

This video was short but it had lots of information on some of the prehistoric animals. I am going to look up the Sea Monsters 2 and on. I really liked this video and I am really going to enjoy the others.

I thought that this was super interesting and I wonder if these creatures could possibly be alive somewhere in this world. Although this was cool, to me it can't be just cool. It lacked information. The video just told you its name, about its body, and its diet. I wish it could have been longer and even possibly make a short documentary about each of them and their lives/life. The thing is that they do short segments on this and that is not enough to inform people about how they lived or their life was when they were alive even if they still are somewhere. I believe that even thought something is cool it should be informative unless it is supposed to be just cool. All in all think this video lacked a lot of information about these animal and that I think people who watch this video should get more information about these specific few animals so they can learn about life on earth before they wer born, we know about dinosaurs and all, but I think more people and scientists should touch on underwater prehistoric creatures rather than just land creatures.

I thought is was really cool how a fish could be over 20 feet and could swim at 38 miles per hour. I agree with Mila when she said the video lacked information. I thought they could of fit more than three facts. I have already seen sea monsters 2 and 3 and they were really cool.

This video is amazing! I love it! But it is creepy that there was a 40+ foot long tylosaur. Those things are creepy. Then there was the giant tuna, that was just hilarious. I know it wasn't a tuna, but it looked like one. Then there was the giant squid which wasn't that great, but still interesting. My favorite part was the giant tuna. It was a good video.

I thought that this video was not exactly my type I guess... I did think that it was informative about all of the sea monsters that used to be in the ocean. However, all the video did was show us the monster but not the monster in action. It did not show us what it could do with their size and weight. Overall, this video was not my favorite, but the special effects were pretty cool.

It is an interesting idea that some people still think these animals might be alive, or have come back from the dead. The thing is is that some of the explanations they gave seem slightly unrealistic. The fact that one is about 1.5 tons, and can swim up to thirty miles an hour.

One thing that the concept of these animals brings up is, what if they ate all of the small fish, and made many species endangered. That would not be good. Also, depending on where they live, they could be a threat to humans swimming or boating in those waters. It could be very dangerous.

With its downsides, it still is an interesting idea.

I thought this video was informative, but kind of slow. It showed the "Sea Monsters" in great detail and listed good information However, the video could have been a little more intriguing.

This was amazing. I did not know that ancient sea monsters actually roamed where we might have lived today. The squid was amazing because it could grow to over 20 feet. To answer Bianca, some animals that are related to them are the squid, shark, and maybe some more animals. Also like Jacob said, the giant tuna might be related to the modern day tuna, except, the modern day tuna is smaller than the giant tuna.

Honestly, I don't have an adjective for this video. It may have been short, but it definitely made me think about what lives deep under water now, and also then. These kinds of animals would be in the "monster section." I thought that this was a really cool video (I found an adjective). What confused me though is how a fish can swim faster than 30 miles per hour. I mean, fish don't have legs or arms, they have fins. Is there some way that they move their bodies that make them go especially fast? I thought the idea of a fish being 40 feet long and eating anything was pretty cool...if I had to choose which one of these sea monsters I wanted to be, I would either be the one that swims very fast or the 40 foot long one.
Overall, this was an awesome video...I just wish that it was longer.

Nicholas said...

That was awesome! But I think that they could have done maybe the current sea monsters of today. It said that they were prehistoric. But to think that a reptile can grow up to 40 feet, and a squid-like creature can grow up to 20 feet. I agree with Ben. It would have been a lot cooler if we found out more about the creatures.

I thought this was amazing thing to learn about these extinct animals that huge. I think the videos could have been longer and included more information.

Ian said...

I think they could have gone into a little more detail in explaining each fish. They only gathered about 3 facts about a couple fish. I didn't like the video because was short and didn't teach me much.

Well, this is pretty cool. It could have given more information about more sea monsters.
But it always makes me wonder.....
Is this all real? It's the same thing with almost everything... are we all just one big dream in someone's mind? How were we created? I always wonder about these things and is it true that these animals are what the scientists say they are? Like Ian said, it didn't really explain evidence of these animals. Overall, it wasn't so good.... I mean it was okay but like I said before what is there evidence about the 3-4 facts they have gathered for each fish. And like Izzy said, how can a fish swim 30 miles per hour?!?! If anything, it is MUCH bigger AND MUCH heavier then us! Some of this I don't even believe...

Ms. Thomas? I did my name, but the anonymous one above is mine, and if my name doesn't show up on this one, this is Annie.

I think the fact that these ancient monsters once existed is amazing. As interesting as this video was, I think it really lacked information. To be able to find this video more interesting, I would need tons of information, which this video didn't contain. Don't get me wrong here. I still think that creatures are really cool.

Everyone won is right. I think that the video could have explained more about the creatures, but after that it was awesome. Some were in common like two of them grew 20 feet and they all had sharp teeth. These sea creature were awesome

I think that it was an amazing thing to see. Everything was huge! The only problem was that the videos were pretty short compared to other videos we have seen before in previous blogs.

Sooo cool! I never knew of such animals That was awesome. I think that it was cool the way that they showed the clips. It was a very good showing. I wonder why there was no modern day animals, but I think that it was very cool. The 40 foot long one was really cool. I liked how they showed some of the facts about the animals after they talked about them. I think that if that thing still lived, its number one rival would be the Great White. As for the other 20 foot long one, that was really cool too. If it could really go that fast (up to 30 miles per hour), then I bet that it never got eaten. That was awesome.

This other crazy animal. Just a simple old squid. It's so unique that such simple animals can be such great things. So cool. It's funny how they all have these weird names. I like how they show the closeup on its mouth, one of the most interesting parts of its body. It seems like they did this with every one. They did body for the second one because it is 20 feet long and super fast (up to 30 mph). For the third they do a closeup on the mouth and body because it can be 40 feet long or higher, and, it eats just about anything as it says in the clip. I wonder if the Great White and it fought, which one would win. Maybe it would go on for an eternity until they both died. Awesome!

Some of these things were very interesting and I already knew some of them. First of all, this video did not give enough information at all. All it gave was the length and what it ate. I would have liked to known when they lived, where in the food chain they were, if they were harmful, if they were even real, if they had any proof or fossils. After I watched this, I did some research and watched a 40 minuter video that gave a lot more detail about where these could be found, the bone structure, what they ate, what ate them, etc. Over all I would rate this video a B.

I agree with everybody that it is a really short video, and it told me less than I wanted to know but it was really cool and I learned more about sea monsters.

I thought this was incredible. I love learning new things, and this was short and sweet, filled with a lot of information. I agree with Bianca; I do wish they had more information on these animals. The Tylosaur has a name that suits it; dinosaurs are reptiles, and so is the Tylosaur. The ending is the same. That was just something fun I noticed!
I think that it would be interesting to know where they lived, and what eats them? They are such big, "scary" animals, I would like to know who gets its dinner off of them.
I also think it would be valuable to know if anyone hunted them. Sharks are sometimes added for their fins, so maybe these animals are hunted for something else.
It would also be interesting to know, as Ben said, what kind of seawater they live in.
The video was very interesting. There could have been a little more information, but everything was fun to learn about.
Can you eat these fish? Are some of them food for other animals, as I said before? Do these animals help the outside world in any way?
I have a lot of questions about this article, but it was full of information!

"I think they could have gone into a little more detail in explaining each fish. They only gathered about 3 facts about a couple fish. I didn't like the video because was short and didn't teach me much." - My first quote. One thing I really liked about the video was that they gave picture of what each animal looked like.
