What happens if you get a blood transfusion with the wrong blood type?
Even though a patient's own blood type is the first choice for blood
transfusions, it's not always available at the blood bank. Try to save
some patients' lives and learn about human blood types!

This was a very interesting game. I found out if there is red at the bottom it is RH+ and then if it is all red it is RH-. I would like to learn more about blood typing, because the game did not teach me everything I would like to learn. This game was confusing at first, but then I figured it out. If you give the patient the wrong blood type they scream. My mom said in the real world a person can die if you give them the wrong blood type. (which is called a rejection reaction) that is when your body rejects the wrong blood. The games that involve operating may be disgusting to some people, but to me it is just fascinating. The way the body works has always been awesome to work with. I would love to learn more. Like the differences between white and red blood cells. Is having too many or too little red/white blood cells harmful? If so in what ways?
I agree with Bianca about that the game did not teach me everything I wanted to learn, but I still learned a lot.

I think that this game was fun be boring. It was not informative and I leaned nothing.

I had already learned how to blood type in CTY over the summer, but I thought that it would teach me something different. It did, because it taught me about a blood transfusion. It is amazing that all of these things are happing in our bodies as we speak.

I am going to reword my first post.
It is interesting to learn about blood transfusions, and how the doctors have to find the same type of blood that the person in need has so that they can live. It is interesting that blood typing gives you the data that can help them to get the right blood transfusion, and save the persons life. I did not know that blood transfusions were given strait into the persons vain.

I thought that this was really interesting. Although I didn't like how it didn't teach you how to know the patients blood type. At frist I was just guessing, but then I finally got it. If it is all red then that is not the patients blood type. Like Bianca I want to learn if having to many or to little different types of blood cells, (red or white) is harmful to the body. I also wanted to learn if you have AB blood type if only A or only B could be injected in to total, not B first then A just B. Also if A and B could be mixed and injected at the same times and if it would be harmful to the body both ways. Even though that this was really interesting lacked some information and I wish it could have been more informative and to teach you more on how to do it, not guess and check, because if you do that in the real world you could very likely kill your patient in the act of doing that and you could lose you job and all of your money if you kill someone when they are counting on you to save/help them with their problems with their body because they need you to save them when they cannot save themselves. If I were to give this game a grade it would be a C+

Please disregard my first two comments.
I did not understand this game at all! When you were trying the blood bags on the patient, I tried all of them and then it wouldn't let me go back. I think that it is a major fault in this game. I did not think that in the real world, they would let you try all of the blood bags on the patient without lots and lots of formal training! Also, the patient was screaming and it didn't make sense how to make the blood type at first. Eventually, I got how to make the blood type, but it was kind of confusing.
Grader:(Mila had a good idea to grade this game.)
I thought it was annoying, with everything repeating and when you give the patient the wrong thing "ahh". I would give this game a B. I agree with Mila and what I wrote before that this did not teach me a lot. I t was more of a video game then a educational game. A blood typing game should be fun, yet educational at the same time. They should explain it more, or make you read the facts before moving on. If you disregard the notes and facts it would just be a video game. They should make the player read or listen to the facts. As I said before it was very hard to play the game the first time, because it was not clear or educational.
More questions...
When you give a person the wrong blood how does it effect? Would they die or just me hurt? (Explain more that i did in the first comment)
How realistic is this game?
What are the differences between the blood types? Which ones are close and which ones are distant?
What is the name of the doctors that do this?
I could research this, but I would rather ask questions :P
My Quick Research:
Name of Doctors: Pathologists
Main Difference between the bloods:
Each Blood Cell has different markers on them, so A and B have different markers.
Have the possibility of dying like I said before. Possibility of dying and living
This was a fun game. It didn't really teach me anything because I learned it on leap, but that's the soul reason that I could understand it. I wish it could have shown you what clogging looked like before you start playing. The first time I thought that the blood not clogging was. It was a good game, though.
Blood Typing is very important to learn, I just don't think this is the best way of learning it. In some ways it teaches a lot and in others it does the exact opposite.
I played this game and I thought that it was hilarious. it is interesting because I learned a lot about blood, but it did not teach me everything I wanted to learn about. It was hilarious when I did the wrong blood type and the patient screamed. It made me laugh really hard. Like Bianca said, what would happen when you give the wrong blood type. It would hurt a lot but might kill if you give the wrong blood type. Even when you try all the blood types, the person is still alive. That is not possible because the pain might be so intense that the patient might even die.
This was pretty cool. I was quite unclear on how to blood type them though. They game needed to tall you what kinds of blood they were if there were certain traits. Do they really expect us to know how to blood type? When I was doing the blood bag dragging I was pretty confused on how which blood bag they needed and why, but I think that I got it on the last patient. I have pretty much the same questions as Bianca, but I would like to focus on one.
If you give your patient the wrong blood in real life, what will happen to them? I didn't take the blood typing LEAP class. How do get a certain blood type? Do your internal organs rely on that blood to keep them going? This is a really interesting topic to learn about. I will probably think of more questions right after I post this comment.
Overall, I thought that this was a really interesting game. I wish that maybe they had a blood typing key...
Oh yeah, I had the sound on for the game and I messed up on dragging the blood bags, and when the patient screamed...it scared me a bit. Hehe;)...Anyone else?
Like Sophia, I agree that this game was a little boring. I took the blood typing leap class last week, so it wasn't very hard for me, but I understand why it might be confusing to other people.
I thought this game was ok. It was confusing at some points butI did learn a lot. It should have given directions on what to do.
I have learned a little about blood typing in CTY over the summer, so I knew how to approach this game. I still didn't know much, so a couple of times I messed up and the patient's hair went crazy. I didn't know much about clumping though. I played this game after I was in Ms. Ghazarian's LEAP class, so I learned some things there. Let's say that I have blood type A+, and my blood gets mixed with anti A serum and anti RH serum, I know for sure that the blood will clump.
Here is a question: My dad is an O- and my mom is a B+, so which blood type would I be? Because if I don't figure it out, I will have to get my blood drawn, and I really don't want to do that.
When I first played this game, I mostly went by color. You know, the way it was yellow when there was aggluteniation (not sure how you spell that, but clotting)and how it was red when there wasn't. After I took the blood typing class, which was a lot of fun (Thank you Ms. Thomas and Ms. Ghazarian), I played this game some more. I finally understood it! Also, if you click on the test tubes, you see a diagram of what's in the blood. You can tell their blood type from just that, but the game still makes you do all three syringes before you can identify the blood type. Overall, the game was OK. It didn't really teach me anything though.
I also learned how to blood type in CTY over the summer, and I took the LEAP class, so I didn't really learn much. I still liked the game, even though the effects of having the wrong blood type lasted only a couple seconds, which would not happen in real life. If the game was more realistic, you would probably just fail the first patient instead of being able to try again, since more of the same blood type won't really help.
This game was very exciting. I always loved blood typing. Sometimes people think it is scary but it is really is not. The game shows alot of real life stuff and how to sample and things like that. I think this was an interesting game.

This game was confusing, yet ok at some parts. It should have showed you what to do better.
I think that it was a bit annoying. It was an okay game, just a bit too tough. I got really annoyed at it mid-way through and quit. I didn't really understand the whole point of the game. I'd give it a b. I think that the interactive games are good, though.
This wasn't a very interesting. You just did what the instructions told you and see if you got it right or wrong. I was expecting them to teach you about blood cells, but you just have to see if you were right or wrong. When the person first screamed, it kind of scared me a bit. Overall, a boring game.
This game was very boring, and I didn't learn much. I think I would give this game a B.
I played this game over and ver trying to see if i was missing something that was important, but i didn't. This game teaches you nothing and I did not like the game at all. I give this game a C.
I loved the game. I learned a lot and it was a good review because I was there at LEAP the other day and learned about blood typing.
This game was soooo cool (I only killed 2 people ;) ) I was at LEAP with Chloe and Miss Thomas taught us the correct way to type blood. The game did not teach me anything extra; just follow the instructions. Maybe the could have done that in the beginning to show you how to do it and then let you go off on your own. Overall, this game was interesting but had little effect on me... Well, when the person screamed I jumped but... :D
I think this game is kind of cool. At first I didn't know what to do when I didn't have enough blood of the correct type, but soon I learned. I think that the game could have been a little bit more informative on actual blood typing instead of just getting blood and putting it into a patient. I didn't know what most of the blood types were before I played the game, but I am a little curious on why they didn't included blood types, such as AB+ and AB- (least common in the world).

I think that this game was boring. I knew everything already, so it was pretty easy for me.
I know I said the game was boring, but it was also kind of fun, and by fun I mean ADDICTING. Because this game was not challenging for me, it was kind of entertaining because I like these sorts of games. (Was that correct grammar?) Anyway, this game was not at all realistic and I learned nothing that I didn't already know.
P.S. Elle, good job for only killing two people!!! ;-)
Adding to my first comment . . .
I heard that my friend Sabina was getting her blood drawn. Her dad is an . . . O-, I think. Her mom is a . . . Hmm, I can't remember. I think like a B+, or something like that. Anyway, because of her parents' blood types, she can't determine her blood type from that and needs to get it drawn. So, I want to know about identification. If you have a lost child with type O-, could you find him by looking for people with that type and then seeing if anybody looked like your child? Could you determine a father/mother from a child's blood type? If so, how?
To answer your question, Bianca, yes. Having too little red/white blood cells is harmful. Remember HIV? It attacks the white blood cells, and that is why it is so deadly. I don't believe that HIV itself kills, but once it has weakened that immune system, other sickness can get in and wreak much more havoc because there aren't enough white blood cells to fight back. I'm not sure if having too many blood cells is bad, but I think that if there are way too many of them, it can be bad.
This was a very interesting game. I learned the skills on how to blood type. Like bianca said i found out if there is red at the bottom it is RH+ and if it was all red it was RH-. When I first played this game I didn't really focus on things I just guess. But now the game helped me. This game teaches you about how it happens all around the world. What I did want to know is what are red and white blood cells and what do they do for your body?
Thanks Emilynee. I will research more about HIV and blood typing. Thanks!
I didn't really learn anything from this game, but the idea was interesting. I didn't know if I would've thought a little harder if I would've gotten the point of the game, and learned something, but otherwise I didn't really understand it. Reading Bianca's comment, I understand what it was supposed to do, but I didn't catch on. Blood typing is interesting, and it would be interesting to learn more.
This game did not really teach me anything, but it did jog my memory. I forgot all about blood typing even though a friend taught it to me. This game made me remember that blood is hereditary. Hereditary basically means that your blood type would most likely be something that your parents have. It is kind of like eyes. If both of your parents have blue eyes you will most likely have blue eyes, but if your dad has blue eyes and your mom has brown eyes, you will most likely have brown eyes. This is because brown is most common. Look at me... I just gave everyone a little lesson :) haha... I would like to learn a little more about blood typing and stuff about blood types so that I will understand it more.
This was VERY interesting and fun. However I agree with Elena. It was sort of hard to understand the whole concept of blood typing. I would, however love to learn more about this!
I think this was a very interesting game. I reallly learned a lot.
