I think the idea of the tesla gun is epic. This is because it seems so crazy that two men could create a device that could be used as a party tool, but could just as easily murder billions of people. Also, it is amazing that the tesla gun was modeled after a NERF gun. There are some drawbacks, though. If the military were equipped with tesla guns, this could create a "tesla war" similar in essence to the Cold War. Countries would stock up tesla guns and try to scare the other countries into submission. Also, if the tesla gun was used in full-on warfare, it could decrease the human population drastically. I think the idea of the tesla gun is a great one, but the power of the tesla gun should be dampened a little. (ok, maybe a lot)

That was totally awesome! A Nerf Gun turned into something that shoots electricity. Literally! I cannot believe it took him nine months to build it. But the cheap cost of $800 may be useful to the military. The only problem with producing them in mass numbers is that, unlike in TV where workers just do it, this guy would need to teach hundreds of people how to do it correctly and safely. My main concern is the fact that this gun is way too dangerous. It literally spits out electricity, long-range. If anyone was standing nearby they could get killed. I would have to say that this guy is off to a very good start.

I think that this "invention" is really cool! I really was surprised that it works safely without burning everything on fire. The man who made it must've had a lot of patience and resillience. I think that it could be very useful towards the army, but it may be a bit too dangerous right now, given the fact that it is pretty new and probably still has many flaws. I think that it is off to a great start, it just needs a little more time and work.

Wow. He made a Tesla gun. I have read a book called "Goliath". It features Tesla and a war machine he created. The second and third book emphasize just how harmful Tesla guns can be. The power of harnessing electricity comes with a price. I'm sure this man just meant it as a fun experiment, but if it got into the wrong hands or was used in warfare, we would have a very good chance of ending up in World War 3 and obliterating the human race. Okay, I'm exaggerating there, but it would be very very dangerous. I agree with everybody. It would be a great weapon, but it needs to have less damage.

I think that the idea of a gun that shoots footlong sparks is very cool, but when he described how he made it I thought that that was more cool than the gun itself. I also think that it is amazing how someone could be that inspired, and tackle the challenge with vigor, all because of this book. Round of applause for this man.

Another thing. How would it shoot sparks out?
Tesla coils shoot randomly, how does it shoot fairly straight.

P.S. Holding this would be suicide, because what if it backfired?

Chloe it could burn everything on fire.

Okay. I'm overwhelmed. How did that gun not blow up half of California when it was fired? Is that gun not shooting 20,000 volts of electricity? How can a small screw-driver battery create 20,000 volts of electricity in the first place, let alone keep the gun going for 30 minutes? Also, like a lot of people have already mentioned, a tesla gun would be an extremely powerful and deadly weapon if used in the wrong way. And like Finn said two comments ago, tesla coils shoot electricity randomly, how does the gun shoot straight? The man and his gun leave me with lots of questions and concerns, but the gun is very interesting and could be useful.

Well, that photo does looks a little photoshopped, it might not shoot straight.
